Social Inclusion

Scroll Down For More

As a quality-of-life condition, social inclusion helps all people feel that they belong in their community and have equitable opportunities to fully participate in, and contribute to, society.

Social inclusion impacts a person’s overall well-being. People with strong social connections are healthier and live longer than those who feel isolated. United Way invests in removing barriers to social inclusion and creating more opportunities for people to participate meaningfully in their community, form new social relationships, and establish inclusive communities to live, play, and work.

Creating Spaces and Places, By Community, For Community

Neighbourhoods are at the heart of community life. Physical environments are the foundation for our health and wellness and our ability to thrive. For many people, where they live does the opposite: they are dangerous, unsupportive, or isolating.
